Founder and Managing Partner
Kevin is Founder and Managing Partner of Rerum Novarum Capital. He is also Founder and Managing Partner of SISPE Capital Management, and The DVS Group, a national, independent intermediary firm that specializes in assisting executives, companies & investors acquire private companies in corporate transitions and expansion. Kevin’s expertise is in guiding complicated transactions for The DVS Group. He leads former C-suite level executive buyers through their acquisition processes, as well as dealing with transactions involving private equity.
Kevin is an expert in Entrepreneurship and Business Acquisition subject matter. He has guided well over 100 transactions to a successful close in the 10+ years since founding The DVS Group. Kevin is an active member and presenter in Vistage, a world-wide organization of successful CEOs, executives and business owners participating in private peer advisory groups. He has taught multiple classes for professional associations such as the International Business Brokers Association, Business Enterprise Institute and the Kansas CPA Society. Kevin also conducts Exit Planning Workshops throughout the country for business owners through regional banks and wealth advisor groups.
Kevin is a classic serial entrepreneur who invented and holds the patent on the Firefly Safety Lighter – a device that safely ignites fireworks without using flames or fuel. As an inventor, Kevin has experience in development, overseas manufacturing, raising private capital, licensing and marketing.
A University of Missouri graduate with a degree in Food Science, Kevin has worked at RJ Reynolds, M&M Mars as a food scientist and as a private wealth advisor at Merrill Lynch, AXA Advisors, BMA and Berthel Fisher.
Kevin and his wife Jennifer are members of Holy Cross parish in Overland Park and the proud parents of two sons and one daughter.
Bill is a principal and partner in Rerum Novarum Capital responsible for business development, marketing and funds sourcing. Bill has spent most of his career in service to the Church in Catholic higher education, as a Vice President for Ave Maria University and as an Associate Vice President at the University of Notre Dame. Bill also served Ave Maria as General Counsel and taught Business Law for more than a decade in Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business as a Concurrent Assistant Professor.
Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration (accountancy) from the University of Notre Dame, and worked for Price Waterhouse as a staff auditor in New York City and as a Senior Consultant in Washington DC. He went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from Notre Dame Law School. He has also served in executive management roles at a national firm of engineers, architects and materials scientists, and for a foundation providing scholarship support for diocesan Catholic schools.
Bill is one of the founding directors of the Catholic Bar Association, serves on the board of Better Together (www.BetterTogetherUS.org), and is the president of the Kansas City chapter of Legatus.
Bill is married to Elizabeth Rhea Kirk, a lawyer, writer, consultant, and speaker with a special interest in adoption law and policy. Bill and Elizabeth are members of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish in Kansas City, MO, and are the proud parents of four young children.
Ben is a Managing Partner of Rerum Novarum Capital and he also serves as a Member and Managing Partner of the DVS Group, a national, independent intermediary firm that specializes in assisting executives, companies & investors acquire private companies in corporate transitions and expansion. At the DVS group, he is deeply involved in the process of qualifying opportunities, managing client expectations and supporting business development efforts. He is responsible for the data, forms and other tools required to effectively serve DVS’s clients.
Ben has developed processes and strategies for working with private equity, corporate and executive (i.e. individual) buy-side clients as well as small/lower middle market businesses attempting to sell or recapitalize. Over the course of dozens of successful engagements, he has become an expert in SBA 7a financing. He actively seeks lenders across the country who are active in small business lending to ensure that clients receive the greatest breadth of opportunity when they approach the debt markets.
Ben earned a BA in Latin American Studies from Yale. He is active in the Yale Alumni Schools Committee and the Yale Day of Service planning committee for the Kansas City alumni chapter.
Ben and his wife, Tanya, have five children and are members of the Curé of Ars parish in Leawood, KS, where Ben is a facilitator for a men's prayer group. Ben also serves as a member of the board of Saint Paul's Outreach - Kansas City.
